I have been following Mario Dedivanovic for years now. After getting my makeup artist certification, he suddenly became my new god. I follow him on every social media account possible, and hope I can be even 1/293th of the artist he is.

Mario, or @makeupbymario, is a master makeup artist and is followed by over 6.6 million people. With major clients including Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, and many more, Mario strives for perfection in his work and masters a flawless natural complexion, while pulling out the clients most beautiful features.

Mario started his passion as an entry-level Sephora employee, starting as a fragrance consultant and working up to a makeup professional.

“They put me by the door to say, ‘Welcome to Sephora!’ to every single person. Because I was near the door, there was like a lipstick gondola nearby, and women would ask questions. I just started giving them advice… even though I wasn’t supposed to. I quickly became obsessed with makeup and began to research and study it after work.” -Mario Dedivanovic

Mario is a leader and teacher, and started the Master Class makeup artist program a little over ten years ago. This program is one of the most well-known artistry classes in the world. Going far and wide, he has hosted over 25,000 artists across multiple countries.

One of his most recognized looks is the “wet look” he created on Kim Kardashian for the 2019 MET gala themed “CAMP” that got millions of people talking.

Mario continues to express himself through makeup collaborations. Mario and Kim Kardashian had a collaboration set called KKWxMario, and launched the Master Palette. He used this palette for his MET gala look.

Mario continues to inspire many, gaining a following by new and experienced artists. I will continue to follow his achievements and looks, and take his tips. One day I will go to the Master Class and watch him teach.
